Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here!
My name is Kaitlyn Weldon (she/her). I am a writer, historian, and professor of American History.
I received my Master’s Degree in History from Oklahoma State University in July 2020! Go Pokes!
My research specializations include American History, Women’s History, the American West, and the Nineteenth Century.
I create content and resources that make history fun and accessible to all. I remember sitting in front of a computer as a undergrad and graduate student wishing that I had someone to ask advice from… I was a first generation graduate student in my family so I had to figure a lot out on my own.
That’s why I have created articles and posts with history tips! I want to give you the help I wish I could have found.
Make sure to subscribe to my blog and YouTube Channel for all of the history tips! I also post some tips on Instagram as well 🙂
I was born and raised in a small town and like to consider everyone I meet my friend. After high school, I attended a community college and completed my Associate Degree in History. Then I transferred to Oklahoma State University to finish my Bachelor’s Degree. And after that I decided I liked school so much that I signed up for another 2 years and completed my Master’s Degree in History at Oklahoma State in July 2020. I loved my academic experience and now am extremely excited to get to teach students history myself!
What I do for fun!
In my free time I like to read, workout, and meet new people! I LOVE learning new things and am always working on something new – feel free to ask me at anytime what I am currently learning!
I love being active and working out! I was a competitive swimmer in high school and have run half-marathons, 10ks, and 5ks. Once, I competed in a mini-triathlon and won my division! Weightlifting is my true passion though! I encourage any and all healthy movement 🙂
I also LOVE visiting museums and historic sites around Oklahoma! Check out my blog for museum reviews and my YouTube Channel for museum “tours.”
Thank you so much for reading about me. I look forward to connecting with you!
