Hey, friend! We’ve finally reached Thanksgiving break in Oklahoma and that means a lot of people will be traveling to and from the City for the holidays. So, I wanted to make a list of fun things to do and visit while you’re in Oklahoma City. Let’s get started!

FREE Walking Activities

Are you tired of being inside? Take your friends or family for a stroll around Oklahoma City. There are so many cool things to see and do!

Do you like seeing statues? Try to find the statues in this post around OKC!

Another fun walking activity is finding the maps on the manhole covers around Oklahoma City!

Is history your thing? Follow along the ’89er trail! Can you find all 28 signs?

Go visit OKC’s own lighthouse at Lake Hefner.

Grab your walking shoes and take a stroll to find the historic markers in Automobile Alley.

I love seeing all of the Christmas and holiday decor in Oklahoma City!

There are Christmas lights everywhere! A simple Google search will bring up so many places in OKC:

  • OKC Zoo Safari Lights
  • Automobile Alley – Lights on Broadway
  • Bricktown Canal
  • Scissortail Park
  • Classic Christmas at Remington Park

Holiday Decor

The First National Building in Oklahoma City always decorates for the holidays and it is stunning. Read more about the First National Building here!

The Skirvin Hotel also has beautiful holiday decor in their lobby!

Ice Skating

The Devon Ice Rink at the Myriad Gardens is always a fun place to visit during the Holiday season.

The Edmond Ice Rink at Mitch Park isn’t too far from OKC if you’re looking for another option for ice skating!

    Thank you for these lovely memories. My first job was here when I was 17 in 1973. I was one of many “Pages” who would take bank notes to exchange at the Federal Reserve, run errands, deliver mail and documents to different departments and businesses in the upper floors. I even went up 32 stories in the elevator with Ginger Rogers and saw one of the first mobile phones which was pulled out of a briefcase in front of the old Kerr-McGee Tower. It was an exciting time to be in OKC!
