Hey, friend! Welcome back to another post! Today, I want to show you the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Let’s get started!

Life isn’t about finding yourself or finding anything. Life is about creating yourself and creating things.

Bob Dylan

Museum History

The Bob Dylan Center opened on May 10, 2022. This museum houses an exhibition about the life and career of Bob Dylan. It also encourages people to chase creativity through artistic expression.

The Bob Dylan Center is also home to an extensive archive with over 100,000 pieces from Bob Dylan alone. This archive is also a part of the American Song Archives.

Photos from Inside the Museum

I didn’t know what to expect when I walked into this museum, but I was pleasantly surprised! I LOVED the layout and the immersive video when you first walk into the back of the museum. In the photo below you can see the screens and objects that enhance the experience.

There is an audio guided tour with music, but I opted not to do this because I was running short on time. Know this is an option though! I chose to walk through the museum and read the plaques. This is my preferred method of taking in information.

I loved the layout and design of the exhibitions. The timeline aspect of Bob Dylan’s career was laid out in a very visually appealing way and was so easy to follow. I learned a ton!

I loved the artifacts that was interspersed periodically into the timeline. This added a personal touch to the exhibition.

Concluding Thoughts

I enjoyed visiting the Bob Dylan Center sheerly from a museum professional’s perspective. The Bob Dylan Center has woven together a great story that appeals to multiple senses. The visuals, sounds, and video all tell a unique story that is easy to follow. I would love to see more museums incorporate this kind of exhibition in the future.

Stop by next time you’re in Tulsa!

Happy Traveling! I’ll talk to ya soon 🙂
